🚨City of South Houston this is our chance to show up and support one of our own.

🚔 Officer Botello has spent his career serving this community. Now he and his family need our support. Whether you come for the BBQ, buy raffle tickets, bid in the auction, or simply stop by to show your support, every dollar makes a difference. 🎟️

For just $20, you get a great BBQ plate and the opportunity to help a local family during a difficult time. If you’ve ever appreciated the men and women who put on the badge and serve our city, this is a chance to give back. 🍗🌭

If you’re unable to help right now, we completely understand. Even simply sharing this post could help us reach someone who can. Every share, donation, foster, and kind word makes a difference for these animals. ❤️💙💜

Look at this picture of Cash! He is running like the gate was left open. In fact, the gate was left open, and Cash got his freedom ride. He did perfect at his foster home, and tomor, he will be traveling to Missouri. We will miss you crazy boy. Officer Jones said she would not give up if Cash didn't. So more than 2 years later and Cash has left the building.
Thank you to all involved in helping make this happen. Also, a very special thanks to Dale, our volunteer who shared online, another husky puppy from a cruelty, and Cash was also seen and accepted. So both huskies are getting out of Texas.
Another special thanks to Officer Zubia for pulling Cash to quarantine at her home, while also bottle feeding multiple litters of kitten bottle babies. Our team has pulled together to care for all of our shelter animals.

We are at an all time critical level. Our intake is closed at this time. Just like all of the shelters around us, we are beyond capacity. We are not a high kill, and we do not have a large facility. Please spay and neuter your pets. Please share the post of the dogs we find. This weekend alone we took in 5 dogs when we were already at capacity. Sadly, one of those did not make it after being hit by a car.

Staff is still taking home the tiny ones and those that are severely injured. It is taking almost twice as long to clean and care for the ones we have at the shelter. Recently, a man was seen throwing a puppy out of the window of his truck. A citizen acted quickly and our police dept and animal control worked together to make an arrest and take the dog to the vet. The 3 dogs in the pictures were found at the girls softball field, off of Austin and at the event center near Dumont . Please share to get them home.

The City of South Houston Animal Control wants to recognize our amazing 911 Dispatchers. You’re the calm in the chaos and the voice that keeps everything moving when it matters most.

We see the pressure, the long hours, and the split-second decisions you make every day. Your dedication does not go unnoticed, and we appreciate everything you do for our team and our community.

Thank you for always having our backs. Just know…we’ve got yours too.

In a city that never slows down… one team stands between chaos and compassion.

By day and night, they answer the call, rescuing the lost, protecting the vulnerable, and facing the unexpected head-on. From intense field calls to quiet moments of care behind kennel doors, every move is driven by one mission: protect and serve those who can’t speak for themselves.

💥 Stray animals? Handled.
💥 Emergency rescues? No hesitation.
💥 Reuniting families? That’s the real victory scene.

This isn’t just animal control… this is a team of real-life heroes writing their own story, one call at a time.

And behind every rescue is a community that shows up. To our residents: your donations, support, and care power this mission more than you know. You’re part of every happy ending.

🎬 No script. No stunt doubles. Just dedication, heart, and a whole lot of grit.

Today was one of those nonstop days where our team went from call to call without much of a break. In the middle of it all, we responded to what turned out to be the wrong address. As we walked up, the homeowners were understandably surprised and a bit confused about why we were there.

It quickly became clear we had the wrong location, but at the same time, the couple, an older husband and wife were dealing with a stressful situation of their own. Their dogs were accidentally locked inside their truck while they were trying to load them.

Our team was able to step in and help. Robert grabbed a ladder and safely assisted in getting the dogs out. What started as a mix-up turned into a moment where we could lend a hand when it was needed.

By the end, everyone was laughing about the situation. Sometimes being in the wrong place at the right time makes all the difference.

Animal Control Appreciation Week
April 12th - 18th 💙

To our ACOs and kennel staff at the City of South Houston—thank you for the work you do every single day, even when it’s hard, messy, and often unseen.

You show up for animals that have no voice, no comfort, and sometimes no hope—and you give them care, patience, and a second chance. Whether you’re out in the field handling tough calls or behind the scenes making sure every animal is safe, fed, and cared for, it does not go unnoticed.

This job takes heart, grit, and compassion, and you all carry that with you every day. Our community is better because of you, and so are the animals whose lives you touch.

We also want to thank our residents for their continued support and generosity. Your donations truly make a difference for both the animals and our staff, and we appreciate you more than you know.

We appreciate you all more than words can say. Thank you for everything you do.
