Great work Officer Cordiner!
Gratitude. Protection. Accountability.
I want to take a moment to express my sincere gratitude to a dedicated law enforcement officer from South Glens Falls, along with South Glens Falls Police and Animal Control, for stepping in and helping ensure Navi’s safety.
This past week has been incredibly difficult. My team and I committed to providing the medical care necessary to save this dog, and in doing so, we were met with hostility, threats, and escalating behavior that no veterinary professional, rescue, or community member should ever have to endure.
As more information came to light, it became clear there is a concerning pattern of harmful behavior toward animals. That is something I will never ignore or accept.
With the support of Happy Husky Rescue and Alfie’s Rescue, and the swift involvement of law enforcement, we were able to protect Navi and move her into a safer path forward. Because of that, I can now continue to advocate for her, heal her, and give her the chance she deserves.
To everyone who stood behind us—thank you. Your support matters more than you know.
But let me be clear:
No veterinarian, no rescue, and no staff should be threatened, intimidated, or made to feel unsafe for doing the right thing.
This situation highlights a larger issue—
We need a stronger, structured animal welfare system integrated with law enforcement so that private citizens and veterinary teams are not forced to bear the burden of dangerous and repeated offenders.
What happened this week was unacceptable.
To my staff—none of you deserved to be spoken to or treated that way.
We will always stand for the animals.
And we will not back down.
