🇺🇸 Today, the Officers and Members of Station 85 pause to remember the 2,977 lives lost, including the 343 firefighters who made the ultimate sacrifice while answering the call.

We honor the firefighters, police officers, EMS personnel, first responders, military members, and civilians whose courage and selflessness showed the strength of America in its darkest hours.

25 years later, we still remember. We still honor. We will never forget. 🇺🇸

At 11:27 AM, Station 85 was dispatched to assist Station 17 (East Taylor) with a working structure fire. Engine/Tanker 85 and 85 Chief responded to the incident.

Upon arrival, Engine/Tanker 85 was assigned to establish a hydrant connection and provide a pressure boost due to inadequate hydrant pressure. Once the water supply operation was established, additional Station 85 personnel were directed to the fireground, where they assisted crews with overhaul operations, extinguishing remaining hot spots, and checking for fire extension.

Station 85 crews operated on scene for approximately five hours before being released by 17 Chief.

The Officers and Members of Station 85 extend our sincere condolences to Adams Township Vol. Fire Department #2 on the passing of Retired Fire Chief and Lifetime Member Michael “Moose” Gdula.

Our thoughts and prayers are with his family, friends, and fellow firefighters during this difficult time.

It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Retired Fire Chief and Lifetime Member, Michael “Moose” Gdula. Moose was a 54 year member of the department - holding many positions including that of our Fire Chief. Our sincerest condolences go out to his wife Patty, their son Michael and their families. Thank you Moose for a job well done! Funeral arrangements will be taken care of by CO Dimond Funeral Home.

On Saturday, 8/29/26 around 9:20pm, two individuals were caught on surveillance video taking a lawnmower from our property.

South Fork Police have been notified and are aware of the incident.

If you recognize the individuals in the video or have any information, please contact the South Fork Fire Department or the South Fork Police Department.

Any information is appreciated. Please share to help us identify those involved.
