Greetings Residents,

We are pleased to announce a new addition to the South Coatesville Police Department. Officer Catherine Schultz was sworn-in as our newest part-time Police Officer at last evening's Borough Meeting. Officer Schultz comes to us with very different and unique experiences. In addition to working as a police officer in the Reading area of Berks County, Officer Schultz is a licensed psychologist with a Ph.D. in clinical psychology. Her experience brings a brand-new level of professionalism, and an innovative perspective, not only to our police department but also to the field of Law Enforcement in general. The South Coatesville Police Department is extremely fortunate to have Officer Schultz on our team! Please join us in congratulating Officer Catherine Schultz.

In South Coatesville, Police Chief Kevin Pierce believes in the motto ‘to serve and protect,” and is a proponent of community policing.

So, when South Coatesville resident Betty Taylor turned "100" Thursday, Pierce traveled to her home to sing her a tune for her birthday, “How Great Thou Art.” Council Women Sylvia Washington and Renee Carey were also present to celebrate Ms. Taylor’s milestone birthday.

Pierce is involved in many singing engagements and has been acknowledged for having perhaps the finest voice in Chester County.
