💵 $5 each or 3 for $10

👉 Important:
✔️ You’ll need your ticket stub to enter a fish
✔️ Ticket stubs are also entered for TONS of door prizes — even if you don’t catch a thing, you can still win!

This year’s derby coincides with China Ice Days Weekend, so there’s something happening all weekend long:

Happy Thanksgiving from our Department family to your family. Sharing some safety tips. Be well, be safe and enjoy your Thanksgiving 🦃

It is almost the big day! PLEASE practice these very simple safety tips so your Thanksgiving turkey doesn't go up in smoke...and your house with it!

Remember, with grease fires it is dangerous to extinguish the fire with water. Be sure to have an ABC type fire extinguisher. It is the recommended fire extinguisher to have in the home for its multipurpose use.

🔥 Wildfire Danger Remains High Across Maine 🔥
📢 Maine Forest Service:
Despite recent rain in some areas, wildfire risk is still very high. The Keetch-Byram Drought Index is between 400–500, which is significant for our state. Central and Southern Maine are especially dry, while Northern Maine has been less affected—so far.
🌬️ Winds on Friday and Sunday could increase fire danger if new wildfires start.
🌧️ Next chance for rain is Monday, but it may only bring short-term relief.
🚫 Burn permits remain closed statewide, except for zones 1, 2, and 3. We are zone 7!
While the state hasn’t banned campfires, conditions are being monitored closely—especially with fall approaching and fuels drying out.
🍂 As leaves fall and frost sets in, wildfire behavior could change. Let’s stay alert and prepared.
✅ Please follow local fire restrictions and help spread the word.

The South China Volunteer Fire Department wishes to extend its sincerest gratitude to everyone who contributed to the success of this year's auction. We appreciate the donations of items and gift certificates, the volunteers who served food and beverages, those who assisted with auction items, our skilled auctioneer, and the attendees who participated in the bidding process.
Additionally, we are grateful for the cash donations received from those who were unable to attend. This event would not have been possible without the collective efforts of our community. It was wonderful to see familiar faces and we look forward to next year's event. Please remember that we are always available to provide assistance when needed.
