The Civil Air Patrol (CAP) is the official volunteer auxiliary of the United States Air Force. The Vermont Wing of CAP, headquartered in South Burlington, consists of five composite squadrons (both adults and cadets), one senior member squadron (adults only), and a legislative squadron (legislative members only). Our squadrons are in South Burlington, Montpelier, Bennington, Rutland, and Springfie
ld. We also have a flight at Norwich University for students in CAP attending the university. Vermont Wing has single-engine aircraft, vehicles, radios, direction finding, and various equipment, along with pilots, senior members, and cadets ready to serve Vermont with various CAP missions. Vermont Wing's Cadet Programs' mission is transforming youth into dynamic Americans and aerospace leaders. Vermont Wing's Emergency Services programs respond to natural disasters and emergencies, partnering with the State of Vermont, the Red Cross, and other emergency response groups to assist when Vermonters need our help. Vermont Wing's Aerospace Education programs provide engaging opportunities to learn about aerospace sciences, cybersecurity, and STEM.
