The Humane Society of Chittenden County (HSCC) was founded in 1901 and serves Chittenden & Grand Isle Counties. Each year, we welcome more than 1,400 animals and as many as 15,000 people to our 12,000 square foot facility in South Burlington. of individuals, families and communities. Our mission is to ensure that every pet has a loving home and that every pet owner has access to the resources they need to give those pets happy, healthy lives. We accomplish this by...
-Rehoming animals in need
-Helping pet owners keep their beloved pets through several surrender prevention
services, offered free of charge
-Providing humane education programs to kids, teens, and adults
-Assisting law enforcement in animal cruelty investigations
-Transporting hundreds of animals each year from high-volume shelters in the
South so they have a greater chance at finding a home

All are welcome and encouraged to apply, and we'd especially love to find fosters who are comfortable with:

✔ Large dogs
✔ Fostering for at least 2 weeks
✔ Weekday appointment scheduling
✔ Administering medications
✔ Managing some behavior needs (w/ guidance & support!)

After just a few moments meeting Louie, his new pawrent said, "I think that's my cat!" and we couldn't help but agree. His happy chirps and loving full-body rubs said it all.
