Today we remember Vermont Highway Patrol Inspector Robert Rossier.

Inspector Rossier was Killed in the line of duty on this day in 1935.
Inspector Rossier succumbed to injuries sustained the previous day when he was involved in a motorcycle accident.

As Inspector Rossier was returning from a routine patrol, another vehicle cutoff his motorcycle, causing him to skid on the wet pavement. He was thrown to the ground and suffered a fractured skull.

It’s the LAST DAY of the fair!

Before you head home, make sure you stop by the Traffic Safety Exhibit in the Miller Building and say hi to all the folks there. They’ve got plenty to share about staying safe on the road!
And while you’re there, be sure to introduce yourself to Rubble, who has been modeling the rollover car.

Don’t worry—he made it out safely before any demonstrations!

Come see us, learn something, and enjoy the last day of the fair. We’d love to see you!

Last week, members of our Marine Division had the unique opportunity to participate in a demonstration with the United States Navy and the United States Coast Guard.
It was a great opportunity for our Marine Division to get out on the water, demonstrate the capabilities of our watercraft, and share information about boating and water safety.
We’re grateful for the opportunity to work alongside our federal partners and strengthen the relationships that help keep our waterways safe.
A special thank you to the U.S. Navy and U.S. Coast Guard for their time and collaboration!

Dispatcher Short and Detective McManus were so grateful to receive a wonderful thank-you from one of the preschools we recently had the opportunity to visit!

It’s always a pleasure to spend time with our youngest community members, talk about safety, answer questions, and—most importantly—make some new friends. ️

Thank you for the kind gesture! We truly appreciate it and look forward to visiting again soon and making so many more new friends!
