📢 PUBLIC ANNOUNCEMENT 📢

The Town of South Boston offices will be closed on Monday, May 25, 2026, in observance of Memorial Day.

🗑️ Residential Curbside Collection:
Residential curbside collection normally scheduled for Monday, May 25, will be collected on Wednesday, May 27. Collection for the remainder of the week will remain on its regular schedule.

Please remember that all refuse must be placed at the curb before 6:30 AM.

🏢 Commercial Refuse Collection:
Commercial refuse scheduled for Monday, May 25, will also be collected on Wednesday, May 27.

The Town of South Boston Public Works Department is advising that Webster St from Wilborn Ave to Broad St. is currently CLOSED due to emergency street repairs.

⚠️ Please avoid the area and use an alternate route while crews work to safely complete repairs.

📢 NOW HIRING: SUMMER INTERN
Town of South Boston

The Town of South Boston is seeking a Records Management Intern for a temporary summer position (approx. May 15, 2026 – August 31, 2026).

Duties include:
Scanning and digitizing town records, organizing files, assisting with records retention compliance, and supporting the secure destruction of eligible records. The intern will work closely with the Town’s Records Officer.

Qualifications:
✔ Detail-oriented and organized
✔ Basic computer skills required
✔ Interest in public administration or related field preferred
