Update on Main and Webster Valve Repair

The water should be back on at all the services locations. Please flush as needed.

It should take a few hours to fill in the hole and complete street repairs. We will work with the state to get the road repaved in the next few weeks.

We unfortunately need to temporarily shut down more services up to #429 Main Street due to the water main break to allow replacement of bolts on the valve. This will start immediately and should not last as long as the main break. We will keep you informed.

Please expect the road to be shut down at least partially at the intersection of Main and Webster starting immediately, to repair a valve leak. It is still hoped we can repair the valve without shutting down water but it's not guaranteed. Thank you for your patience in these unavoidable situations.

The second break has been repaired and the water main is back in service. Please perform some flushing prior to use. The crew will be working on filling the hole for at least the next hour. Please expect the road to be shut down at least partially at the intersection of Main and Webster at around 6:15 AM tomorrow to repair a valve leak. It is still hoped we can repair the valve without shutting down water but not guaranteed. Thank you for your patience in these unavoidable situations.

Second Main Brake-Main and Webster
Besides the valve needing repair tomorrow morning a second main brake opened up about 10 feet up Main street from the first repair. Water is off again for the same people as the crew digs to repair the second leak. Probably about the same timing as the last repair.

Main Break Update: 6/11/26 6:40pm
The main has been repaired and water service restored for Main Street #337 to 394. Please flush you service and internal plumbing if you get discolored water in the area for around 15 minutes.

During valve shut down to isolate the area the large in-ground valve at Main and Webster developed a small leak and must be repaired. Our repair crew will start excavating the valve for repair at 6:30AM tomorrow morning. Main will be shut down at Webster. If all goes according to plan, the valve will be repaired without water being turned off but this is not guaranteed. Please be sure to check media tomorrow morning. Thank you for your patience.

Main Break Update: 6/11/26 at 2 pm

There is a confirmed main break at Main Street and Webster Street. Approximately Main Street from #337 to #394 will not have water until the break is fixed. We are waiting on a dig crew. Expect 6-10 hours to repair.

There is a water main break in the area of Main Street and Webster Street. Water will be shut off in that general area. We will keep you updated as to when the water will be turned back on.

Due to the fire in Berwick at the Berwick Metal Recycling Facility, the fire department will be using a hydrant on High Street. There may be some discolored water as a result.
