Happy September!

We have our space theme continuing throughout the middle of September, then we will switch to Halloween theme!

We have our Free Adaptive Soccer program starting back up Seacoast TopSoccer, Kids Night Out, Open Play Hours, Free Support Group, and are excited to be at the Community Wellness Festival in York 💛

Our monthly calendar and informational flyers can always be found on our social media pages and on our website under “Calendar of Events” tab. We will be posting our October calendar soon with our Sensory Friendly Trunk or Treat information along with a fun Fall Festival we are a part of in early October!

We don’t always post about our Inclusive Preschool in Eliot, ME, but we are SO excited to start our third year, so we wanted to share 💛

We were able to complete teacher workshop days: connecting, collaborating, and growing together. We were lucky to enough to have Julie from The Little Birds Foundation, Molly from Speech and Spoon Therapy, and Marissa from The Sonatina Center discuss in-depth about music therapy, feeding therapy/ARFID, and behavioral strategies to best support our students.

Megan Giroux Cabanel, Speech Pathologist from Play and Grow Speech was able to review ways to create inclusivity in the preschool classroom by implementing accommodations and modifications. Ms. Taylar was able to connect about each student, the importance of play, and natural learning opportunities within our classroom (which happen all day everyday)!

I am beyond thankful for our team (which includes families, students, and our staff)— the passion, love, and sense of community that is shared each and everyday- makes for a very special place 💛 we are so excited to start year 3!

We can’t wait for Pyper to come see and visit! 🐓💛

We have “space and moon rocks” in our sensory table, space stepping stones, new interactive walls, books to explore, and a new space game!

Happy August!

Summer is zooming by— and we are getting ready to BLAST back to school with our SPACE THEME coming this weekend for the month of August. 🚀☀️🌙

We have Afternoon Out, Punkintown Party, Support Group, Summer Camps, and Open play time this month. Our weekend hours will be increasing in the Fall as well 💛

Our Fourth annual Inclusive Field Day hosted with the amazing Southern Maine Athletic Sports Haven

This event means so much to us— because YOU all mean so much to us! Bringing the community together is both of our goals. Hosting an event where everyone feels welcome, it is designed with intent for everyone to access all opportunities, all can explore, parents/caregivers can enjoy, and for everyone to feel AND be accepted in our #1 goal.

How do we make sure it’s inclusive:

- Sensory friendly area and sensory tools
- Low rise bounce houses, bounce houses of all sizes
- Flat splash pad for walkers/wheelchairs to access- and all children to enjoy!
- No bright lights, unexpected noises
- Flat surfaces for all walkers, wheelchairs, strollers
- Communication boards accessible for all
& most importantly- setting the environment for everyone to know why we are here— to ensure we are building an inclusive community!

“No one else is YOU and that is YOUR superpower”. Thank you for all attending— we couldn’t be creating these amazing opportunities without you all. 💛
