๐Ÿšจ FLOOD WATCH ISSUED FOR HARDIN COUNTY AND SOUTHEAST TEXAS ๐Ÿšจ

The National Weather Service has issued a Flood Watch for Hardin County and surrounding areas from 7:00 AM Monday, June 15, 2026 through Wednesday morning, June 17, 2026.

๐ŸŒง๏ธ What to Expect
A stalled cold front combined with abundant Gulf moisture will bring multiple rounds of heavy rainfall to Southeast Texas through early Wednesday. Rainfall totals of 2 to 5 inches are expected across the area, with isolated locations potentially receiving 6 to 10 inches.

โš ๏ธ Flooding Concerns
Heavy rainfall occurring over a short period of time may lead to:
โ€ข Flash flooding of streets and roadways
โ€ข Flooding of low-lying and poor drainage areas
โ€ข Rising water levels in creeks, streams, and rivers
โ€ข Urban flooding where runoff overwhelms drainage systems

๐Ÿ“ Areas Included
Hardin, Tyler, Jasper, Newton, Jefferson, and Orange Counties are included in the Flood Watch.

๐Ÿš— Safety Reminders
โ€ข Never drive through flooded roadways. Remember: Turn Around, Don't Drown
โ€ข Monitor local weather forecasts and emergency alerts.
โ€ข Have multiple ways to receive warnings, especially overnight.
โ€ข Be prepared to move to higher ground if flooding develops near your location.
โ€ข Secure outdoor items and avoid unnecessary travel during periods of heavy rainfall.

๐Ÿ“ฑ Stay informed by monitoring updates from the Hardin County Office of Emergency Management, the National Weather Service Lake Charles, and local media outlets. Additional rainfall may continue beyond Wednesday, and the Flood Watch could be extended if conditions warrant.
