TRAFFIC ALERT!

Update- as of 10 p.m. union street is back open. Frontier crews are on scene and will remain on scene late into the night and possibly into early morning fixing the damage. Please be mindful of them and give them plenty of room to work as they try to restore services.

Union street/Donnellson Avenue is closed from 127 to Adam's street for a utility pole down across the road. Fire crews are on scene and the utility company is responding. Please use alternate routes.

If you must come this way the best detour through town will be North street and Jefferson street

In the wake of everyone freaking out over tomorrow’s storms: Calm down.

- It’s the Midwest.
- Illinois is the new tornado alley.
- We’ve experienced severe weather all of our lives here.
- Take the precautions for hail, damaging winds, possibly a tornado — with that possible power outages due to the severity.

💡 Pick up your yard - if anything, items will fly away with the winds.
💡 Ensure your animals can make it to safety.
💡 If you have power lines over your driveway, maybe park a vehicle (in case of needing to leave) away from the power lines.

If the need arises we have a generator at the firehouse and will establish a power source pending the Chiefs wishes and the assessment of need.
