Sonoma Garden Park

Sonoma Garden Park Sonoma Garden Park is a 6.1 acre working farm, center of education, and public park. We are open from dawn to dusk, seven days a week.

A project of the Sonoma Ecology Center, Sonoma Garden Park provides a beautiful, natural environment with educational opportunities for both adults and children. The property was a gift from Pauline Bond, schoolteacher and a gardener, to the City of Sonoma. Sonoma Ecology Center has developed the property and maintains it to promote sustainable garden & farming practices in the community.

Founded by a Sonoma Valley school teacher and now an outdoor classroom and community hub for Sonoma Ecology Center's Environmental Education Team, Sonoma Garden Park feels most alive when it is full of children.

On June 8, we welcomed our first group of Summer 2026 campers to the park for a week of earth science activities, adventure course challenges, nature crafts, and so much more! Campers have been busy ice-dyeing bandanas, making gnome villages, and staying cool with the water pump and sprinkler features in the Children's Play Area.

There is still space in upcoming sessions of Earth Explorers Camp and Creek Camp! Click below to learn more and register your little one for a meaningful outdoor experience they'll remember long after summer is over.

Join us at Sonoma Garden Park to celebrate the art of the perfect summer sip! Set amid the garden’s summer blooms and fruit trees, this relaxed, hands-on workshop from Sonoma Ecology Center and Sonoma County Ag + Open Space explores a seasonal repertoire of refreshing mixers and infusions inspired by the summer's best local fruit and herbs.

JUNE 27 — Summer Sips in the Garden
12:00-2:00 pm
Sonoma Garden Park, 19996 7th St E, Sonoma
Sign up: https://sec.regfox.com/summersips

This workshop is free of charge thanks to the voters of Sonoma County who fund the work of Ag + Open Space with a quarter-cent sales tax.

Together, we’ll craft a selection of delicious non-alcoholic drinks, from homemade electrolyte tonics to deeply infused iced teas layered with garden-grown botanicals. Our friends at Sonoma Syrup Co are kindly providing refreshing, handcrafted syrups for us to add to our mocktails! Along the way, you’ll learn simple techniques for building balanced, flavor-forward beverages using whole ingredients and pantry staples.

Each guest will leave with a freshly cut bundle of herbs to inspire their next batch at home!

Come gather with friends, raise a glass, and discover delicious ways to stay cool, hydrated, and nourished all summer long.

It was a truly magical weekend at Sonoma Garden Park—made possible by our incredible community of volunteers, native plant enthusiasts, and garden park visitors! Between the hustle and bustle of the Harvest Market, overflowing carts of native plants being wheeled back and forth from the Nursery to the parking lot, and our Make & Take Potted Plants workshop in the picnic area, every corner of the garden park was full of life—just as it should be!

Up next, join us for Movie Night in the Garden on Wednesday, May 20! We'll gather at 7:30, and the movie starts at 8! Any guesses as to which movie we're screening? Leave your guess (or future suggestion) in the comments!
