5th grade students are predicting and collecting data to find out where Earth’s water is. We played toss the globe to learn that our fingers land on water most often. We filled cups to predict where we might find water and in what percentages. We’re having so much fun here at SMS learning about the hydrosphere!

⚾️Bobcats Battle Tough in 2-1 Loss to Indian Creek

The Bobcats battled Indian Creek on Monday at Lions Park and came up just short, 2-1, despite out-hitting them 4-1.

Camden Lemke gave us a strong performance on the mound, going six innings and allowing just one hit and two runs while striking out six. He gave us every opportunity to stay in the game, and our defense competed behind him.

At the plate, Sawyer White and Liam LeCuyer led the way with two hits apiece. Sawyer went 2-for-2 and drove in our lone run. We also showed patience at the plate, drawing eight walks, with Cruz Hawkins and Jamison Roberts each reaching twice by way of the walk.

We were aggressive once we got on base, finishing with seven stolen bases. Cruz Hawkins, Sawyer White, and Jamison Roberts each swiped multiple bags.

This was a tough one because we had opportunities—we put runners on base and got solid pitching, but we just couldn’t come up with the big hit when we needed it. We’ll learn from it, keep working, and be ready for the next one.

The Bobcats are back at it Wednesday as we travel to Morris.
