Hi Everyone! Get your burritos from Chipotle in Davis Square this Sunday for a good cause!

Join Tufts Teach-in-CORES in supporting and fundraising for CORES, Committee of Refugees from El Salvador, a local nonprofit helping the Latinx immigrant community in Greater Boston. On Sunday, April 25, 5-9pm, order a meal from Davis Square's Chipotle, using our fundraising promo code GTBJMBW online or mentioning CORES FUNDRAISER when paying in person and part of your purchase will be donated to our cause without any additional cost to you!

The Covid-19 pandemic has forced CORES to cancel its in-person English classes and US Citizenship preparation classes, which Tufts Teach-in-CORES students volunteer teaching, and has put a strain on their finances as a small NGO serving low-income community members. The funds raised will go directly to the CORES center, helping them cover expenses and save up money to keep helping their members in whatever capacity possible.

For the health and safety of the Tufts community, we ask students to place an online order through the Chipotle app or Chipotle.com (do not use third party delivery platforms as they are not participating in the fundraiser) and pick up. Alternatively, order in-person, mention CORES FUNDRAISER and return to your home to enjoy your meal!

WEAR MASKS AT ALL TIMES, STAY AT LEAST SIX FEET APART FROM PEOPLE, AND WASH/SANITIZE HANDS FREQUENTLY!

Thank you to Marcos Garcia, director of CORES, for coming to Tufts and presenting on not only the center and its services, such as ESL and citizenship classes, but also the importance of the 2020 census and getting the immigrant population to participate in it! His insight on the green line extension and how it could affect the immigrant population through rises in rent led to an incredibly interesting and informative discussion.
