In alignment with Department of Defense (DoD) Instruction 5400.17 and recent Executive Orders issued by the President, the United States Marine Corps has reviewed and adjusted its social media content to ensure compliance with DoD policies and priorities. Graduated top of his Military Occupational Specialty(MOS) school and earned a Meritorious promotion. Known you since you were a young Junior in HS, and now out there doing big things and making us all proud. Continue to work hard and crush every goal you set for yourself. Sign ups for the Summer Leadership Character Development Academy are open. Sign up or nominate a student by visiting slcda.marines.com.
Eligibility requirements:
Must be a high school sophomore or junior
Must be 16 to 18 years old by the academy start date
(June 15, 2020).
Have a minimum 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale, or equivalent.
Applicants must complete a 500 word essay about "How you plan to make a difference if given the opportunity to attend SLCDA".
Must receive a minimum of one reference (teacher, administrator, coach, mentor). Cannot be a parent, family member or a member of Marine Corps Recruiting Command.
Possess strong moral and ethical standards.
Current Physical within one year of the academy.
While athletics, school leadership positions and service-oriented activities are not required, they are important to the overall selection process.
Participation in Reserve Officer Training Corps programs is not required.
Students cannot be a member of the Delayed Entry Program.
