We want to thank all who made this years celebration fantastic. However you helped support our event we thank you. Monetary donations, helping set up, tear down, helping with parking or support services (police, fire, ems). It takes the Village to pull this off. Share your pictures to this page. We are looking forward to sharing our day with you on Saturday. We will be busy setting everything up for you tomorrow and Saturday morning. We will have limited access to messages received here. Please take time to review the parade lineup as well as flyer for the day’s events.

We want to take a moment to thank all who have donated to make this event possible. Special thanks to our Reading Township Volunteer Fire Department and EMS, Somerset American Legion for assisting with the parade and Somerset Police Department. It takes the village to make this happen.

Please, please be mindful that everyone is volunteering their time.

Please be patient, kind and considerate as all are doing a volunteer job they were asked to do. We have an amazing community celebrating our Nations Independence. Thank you for all your support.

Our EMS volunteers will be holding classes at the park on Saturday. Attend a class, or just stop by to tell them thank you!!!

Come join us this Saturday at the Somerset park! We will have a tent set up with a 50/50 raffle and information on becoming an EMT and joining our dept. Learn about our latest fundraisers to purchase a new LifePak 35 monitor. We will also be holding 2 Stop the Bleed classes at 1 and 6:30. Be safe and enjoy your 4th of July!

🎉 SOMERSET COMMUNITY CELEBRATION PARADE LINEUP 🎉

Join us for the Somerset Community Celebration Parade! The parade kicks off promptly at 11:00 AM, starting at the corner of North High Street and East Main Street. We’ll march around the square and down South Columbus Street, ending at Somerset Memorial Park.

Parade Assembly Details:
All participants should assemble at their designated areas beginning at 10:00 AM.

Designated Areas:

AREA 1: American Legion on East Gay Street

• Legion Colors
• Legion Firing Squad
• Police
• Grass Truck
• Box Car
• Veterans Cars and Groups

AREA 2: Soil Conservation Building on East Gay Street

• Band
• Cheerleaders
• Tractor and Vehicle Floats

AREA 3: School Parking Lot on High Street

• Politicians Cars
• Auto Clubs
• Show Cars and Trucks

AREA 4 & 5: Methodist Church Parking Lots

• Scout Troops and Ball Teams
• Fire Department
• EMS Units
• McGaughey’s Dairy Freeze (UNLOAD AREA)
• Horse Drawn or Mounted Units
• Other Animal Units
• Participants will proceed to the front (street side) of Methodist Church

A legion member will be present at each area by 10:00 AM to assist participants.

Important Reminders:

• All parade participants will be returned to their pick-up point after the parade.
• No floats will stop in the park; all entrants will be routed out the rear entrance.
• For safety reasons, NO water balloons or water guns are permitted in the parade.
