There is a power outage here at Somerset FD Station 2 and the surrounding area, including several traffic lights on and near HWY 27!
Remember treat those intersections as 4 way stops!
Kentucky Utilities is working to resolve the problem.

Somerset Fire Crews were dispatched to traffic light 1 for a two vehicle injury collision with multiple injuries. On scene crews provided patient care and assisted Somerset-Pulaski County EMS with transporting 3 patients to the hospital. Crews blocked traffic, stabilized the vehicles, and cleaned debris from the roadway. Somerset Police assisted on scene.

Somerset Fire Crews responded to a two vehicle collision at traffic light 2. On scene crews reported that the North bound lane of Hwy 27 was shut down. Fire and EMS crews evaluated those involved. Somerset-Pulaski County EMS transported one patient to the hospital. Crews also blocked traffic and cleaned debris from the roadway. Somerset Police also assisted on scene.

Somerset Fire Crews were dispatched to the 400 block of E. Hwy 80 for a 3 vehicle collision. On scene Fire and EMS crews assessed those involved and Somerset-Pulaski County EMS transported one patient to the hospital. Crews blocked traffic, stabilized the vehicles and cleaned the roadway of debris and fluids. Somerset Police and Safety Officers also assisted on scene.

Somerset Fire Crews were dispatched to Ringgold Road/ Rolling Green Acres for a two vehicle head on collision. On scene crews along with Somerset-Pulaski County EMS assessed those involved and one was transported to the hospital by EMS. Crews blocked traffic, secured the vehicles and cleaned debris and fluids from the roadway. Pulaski County Sheriff’s Office also assisted on scene.

Due to the extreme heat, and the heat advisory we ask that everyone try to avoid having any emergencies until cooler weather.
So if you don’t mind please refrain from having any fires, wrecks, or any other emergencies that would require our firefighters to put on their hot gear.
-Stay cool, enjoy the air conditioner
-Drink plenty of water
-Eat lots of ice cream

IN ALL SERIOUSNESS IF YOU ARE OUTSIDE, TAKE THE HEAT SERIOUSLY.
Take breaks and cool down, drink plenty of water.

Somerset Fire Crews were dispatched to the 1700 block of Patterson Branch Road for a reported vehicle vs. pedestrian accident. On scene crews found that a bicyclist had been struck by a vehicle. Crews assisted Somerset-Pulaski County EMS with patient care before the rider was transported to the hospital. Somerset Police continue their investigation.

** Somerset Fire Department reminds bicyclist to use caution when riding on the roadway especially in limited light conditions. Also it is advised to always wear a helmet and high visibility clothing. Headlights and taillights are also recommended for nighttime use. **

Recently , Somerset Fire Department Battalion Chief Shannon Hamm and Lieutenant Cody King attended the IAAI Annual Training Conference in Pigeon Forge, TN.

This training included Artificial Intelligence, Electrical Fires & Explosions, Live Fire Demonstrations, Fire Suppression Systems, K9 & Other Investigation Resources, and Evidence Collection.

Continued education and training helps us stay prepared, improves our investigative skills, to better serve the citizens of Somerset.
