Starting April 1, 2026 for about 10 days.

Join your neighbors for a Village-wide property clean up! It's the perfect time to spring clean unwanted items in your yards.

Dumpsters will be provided to Village residents for the disposal of unwanted items at these four locations.
1. 400 E. Main St.
2. 112 E. Main St. behind the Firehouse.
3. Village Park, buy the Pool area
4. Pig Foot and N. Market St.

PLEASE DO NOT PUT TIRES, BATTERIES, PAINT, MATTRESSES, OR HAZARDOUS MATERIALS IN THE DUMPSTERS!!! ALSO DO NOT LEAN OR LEAVE ANYTHING OUTSIDE OF THE DUMPSTERS.

Reading Township General Laborer
Reading Township, Perry County, OH
Employment type: Part Time

Reading Township is seeking a dependable and hardworking General laborer to join our team. This position involves a variety of tasks related to the maintenance and upkeep of township properties and roadways, including mowing, snow plowing, tree trimming, and other general labor duties. The ideal candidate will be a motivated individual capable of following instructions and performing physical labor in varying weather conditions.

Key Responsibilities:
Operate and maintain equipment for mowing of township properties and right-of-ways
Plow and remove snow from roads and township facilities during winter months
Assist with general roadway maintenance, including patching, debris removal, and signage
Trim trees and clear brush from roadways and public areas
Operate heavy equipment as needed (e.g., loaders, tractors, backhoes)
Perform routine maintenance on tools and equipment
Follow Safety protocols and township policies at all times
Work effectively both independently and as part of a team

Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent
Ability to pass a pre employment drug test
Must be physically capable of performing manual labor in all weather conditions
Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions
Reliable transportation to and from work
CDL is not required, but possession of a CDL is a plus
Residency within the township not required – all applicants are welcome

Compensation: starting pay will be $17.50. Performance evaluations will be completed at 30days, 60days and 90days.

Somerset shelter rental signups.
I will be in the courthouse on Saturday, March 14th from 8am to 10am for first signups.
If you cannot make that, you can start calling the office the following week to make reservations. 740-743-2963
We will not have reservations before April 1 due to the water still being shut off.
