Soroptimist of Somerset County Soroptimist's mission is to improve the lives of women and girls, in local communities and throughout the world.

Soroptimist means "best for women" and that's what we strive to be—an organization of women at their best helping other women to be their best. As a volunteer organization of business and professional women we feel uniquely qualified to help women and girls live their dreams.

✨We are excited to recognize our Soroptimist Junior, Madison, a student at Meyersdale Area High School and the daughter of Richard and Ashley Berkley.

She is deeply involved in her community, generously giving her time through organizations and events such as Meyersdale Church of the Brethren, Meyersdale youth sports teams—where she serves as both a coach and umpire—Trunk or Treat, the Duck Regatta, Maple Festival Park, and as a Youth Summit Representative.

Her dedication to service and leadership reflects the values of Soroptimist and makes her a wonderful example of a Soroptimist Junior.

Following graduation, Madison plans to attend a four-year college to major in Pre-Law, with the goal of continuing on to law school.

We are proud to recognize Emily Fisher, a dedicated student at Somerset Area School District and the daughter of Lani Holland and Clark Fisher.

Emily is an active member of the Interact Club, where she currently serves as Vice President. She generously gives her time as a volunteer, including participating in the Valentine’s Day Intergenerational Event at the Somerset Senior Center and serving as a reader for Elementary and Middle School academic competitions in History, Geography, Science, and Spelling.

Her commitment to service extends outdoors and into the community as well—Emily has assisted with hiking trail maintenance at the Quemahoning Recreation Area and supports local nonprofits as a social media manager for organizations such as the Stonycreek Rendezvous and the Stony-Kiski-Conemaugh Kayaking Sojourn.

Looking ahead, Emily plans to pursue a bachelor’s degree in neuroscience or biology, followed by medical school, with the goal of becoming a neurologist.

We commend Emily for her leadership, service, and ambition, and we look forward to all she will accomplish in the years ahead!

💛 Soroptimist Junior Spotlight 💛

We are proud to recognize Eirean Walker, a student at Turkeyfoot Valley Area High School and the daughter of Shelly Kidder.

Eirean exemplifies what it means to serve her community. She volunteers at the annual Buckwheat Festival serving pancakes, represented her community as Pumpkinfest Queen 2025, and helped paint local business windows as part of her role.
As a member of the National Honor Society, she also contributed her time and leadership at Rec Day — continuing to make a positive impact wherever she’s involved.

Eirean plans to attend IUP to pursue a career in nursing, a goal that reflects her compassionate spirit and dedication to helping others.

We are so proud to have Eirean as part of our Soroptimist Junior program and cannot wait to see all she accomplishes in the future! 🌟

🌟 Soroptimist Junior Spotlight 🌟

Briar Claycomb is the daughter of Brandon and Christy Claycomb and a student at Johnstown Christian School. She enjoys giving back to her community and volunteers at Theater Camp and Mountain Top Bible Camp. Briar has also helped with cleaning at Berkey Church and the outdoor areas of Laurel View Village, and she regularly volunteers in her church nursery.

Briar plans to attend college to earn a degree in Early Childhood Education and hopes to one day become a kindergarten teacher. We’re proud to recognize her kind heart, dedication to service, and passion for helping others! 💙

🌟 Soroptimist Junior Spotlight 🌟

Please help us recognize Lillian Lambert, a junior at Berlin Brothersvalley School District. Lillian is the daughter of Michele Pluck and Chris & Nicole Lambert.

Lillian volunteers as a counselor at Camp PARC, where she uses her volleyball skills to teach children with special needs how to play the game—helping build confidence, teamwork, and joy through sports. At school, she also assists with ticket sales and participates in the Mountaineers in Motion program.
Looking ahead, Lillian plans to attend a two-year college to pursue a degree in nursing. Her ultimate goal is to become an Emergency Room nurse, where she hopes to make a meaningful difference in the lives of others.

We are proud to recognize Annah Sechler, a student at Rockwood Area High School. Annah is the daughter of Jason and Kathleen Sechler and is an outstanding example of service and dedication in our community.

Her volunteer work includes Camp PARC, the New Centerville Rural Fire Department, Trinity Reformed Church, Jubilee, Huston’s Haunted Hollow, and Operation Christmas Child. Annah also gives her time through various high school club projects, always stepping up to help where needed!

Looking ahead, Annah plans to pursue a career as a physical therapist, combining her passion for helping others with her commitment to service.

We are so proud of Annah and excited to see all she will accomplish! 💙

✨ Spotlight on a Remarkable Young Woman: Sadie Maust ✨

Please join us in celebrating Sadie Maust, the daughter of Veril and Ashley Maust. Sadie is a student at Salisbury-Elk Lick High School, where she gives her time volunteering at the school store and supporting her classmates and staff.

Sadie’s dedication to service extends well beyond school walls. She volunteers at both the Springs Folk Festival and the Maple Festival, and she stays active in her church youth group’s community service projects. She also serves as Secretary of her FFA chapter, showing leadership and commitment to her community.

Sadie’s future plans include studying for a career in Nursing — a perfect fit for someone with such a caring heart.
