Friday morning assemblies at the LC have become such a warm way to welcome students with school announcements, shared moments, and lots of school spirit!

It’s beautiful to see our campus truly embrace kindness, language, and learning.
Today, we recited the Pledge of Allegiance, sang along with the DLI kinder morning song, and highlighted our Character Counts focus for the month: kindness and caring.

Meet Mrs. Schlingman, our 6th–8th grade Culinary Arts and Spanish DLI teacher! She is a passionate, creative, and kind educator who brings heart and joy into her classroom every day.
One fun fact about her: she was in a Hallmark movie filmed right here in Solvang! Mrs. Schlingman loves working at Solvang School because of the incredible team of teachers, the strong sense of community, and our amazing students and families. When it comes to snacks, you’ll most likely find her enjoying anything covered in Tajín or Trader Joe’s Takis 🌶️
