A special town meeting will be held to approve the purchase of land to house the new Public Works Maintenance Facility. It will be located at the Solon Town Office on Wednesday, April 22, 2026 at 6:00 pm. The warrant is posted in multiple areas in town as well as online.
The following are the two articles on the warrant:
*Article 2: To authorize the Selectmen, on behalf of the town, to negotiate and enter into a purchase and sale agreement for the purchase of the northern 3 acre +/- portion of a certain parcel of land described as, Map U4 Lot 1, in deeds to Thomas Roderick and recorded in the Registry of Deeds on November 20, 2018, in book 5353 pages 188 and 191, to be used as the site for the Town’s new public works garage and salt shed, and to appropriate from the Public Works Garage Reserve fund $105,000 for the purchase of the property.*
*\ Selectmen and Advisory Committee recommend Yes.*
*Article 3. To see if the Town, pursuant to 23 MRSA Section 3030, will vote to authorize the municipal officers to execute all documents necessary to purchase from David Spencer, a .44 acre strip of land as described in a deed dated November 23, 2005, and recorded at the Somerset County Registry of Deeds in Book 3623, Page 261. Said portion is described in said deed as a 50-foot-wide easement.*
