The recent rain has helped the fire danger and most of our trails are open once again. Please see our most recent post at Douglas County Forestry Department for the updated and map.

Douglas County Trail Report 5/6/26

All Summer ATV/UTV recreation trails are Open with the exception of gated sections on 217 which are shown on the map as of 5/6/2026. As a reminder, please stay on the trail and away from the edges. If the County is in Red Flag Fire Danger the trails will close temporarily.

1. Gandy Dancer Trail – MN/WI Stateline to Patzau.

2. Saunders Grade – MN/WI Stateline to her Schallameir road parking lot.

3. Wild Rivers Trail – Douglas Co./Washburn Co. line to North Trailhead parking lot.

6. Trail 5 (summer section)

7. Trail 217(summer section)

The docks at Gordon Dam, Lower Eau Claire, Anna Gene, and Lake Minnesuing are out and ready to use for the fishing opener. The Dock at the North Access of the Gordon Flowage is not out at this time as it needs to be fixed.

Park Creek Pond in Solon Springs is ready for the fishing opener! The Wisconsin DNR just stocked 770 Brook trout, averaging 9 inches. Park Creek Pond County Park offers a fishing pier, a floating walk along the edge of the pond, and an open pavilion with picnic tables.

Douglas County offices will be closed on Friday, April 3, 2026 in observance of the Spring Holiday, with the exception of the County Clerk's Office.

The County Clerk's Office will be open from 8 AM - 12 PM (noon) to accept registered write-in candidate paperwork for the County Board candidates for the April 7, 2026, election. No other services will be available during this time.
