Good things are happening in KPBSD classrooms!
As part of the Board of Education’s focus on accountability and s
student achievement, we recently reviewed results from our K–3 mCLASS literacy assessment.
At the end of last school year, 68% of K–3 students were at or above benchmark, compared with 60% statewide and 64% nationally. KPBSD has increased from 64% to 68% over the past three years.
We are also seeing encouraging results as students begin the new school year. A record 60% of our current third grade students started the year reading at or above benchmark, continuing a positive trend in early literacy.
These results reflect the hard work of our students, staff, and families. They also demonstrate our continued focus on strong literacy instruction.
We are proud of the progress and know there is more work ahead.
