If you have been up to the northern end of the city in the past week, you can see we have started expanding the parking lot behind Fire Hall #2. This should be only the beginning of our effort to increase the amount of parking near the lake and ball fields.

We are still in the design phase of our Holly Park Improvement Project. We hope to have a set of plans very soon. Once we do, we will put this project out for bid. Once\ again, this is at least a $500,000 project. Hamilton County Government will be paying $250,000 toward this project. Thanks again District 1 Commissioner Gene-o Shipley, Mayor Wamp and the rest of the Hamilton County Commission for this partenrship.

We received a Notice to Proceed for Construction a couple of weeks ago from TDOT for our Dayton Pike @ Thrasher Pike and Dayton Pike @ Montalke Road Signalization Project. This is an $830,000+ project that we were able to secure grant funds to cover $720,000 of the cost. Without these grants, these projects are not possible for us to fund. It may take up to a year to see the fruits of this labor but improvements are on the way.

Stay tuned...

We understand transparency in government is important. We fall short on many occasions in this area. It’s easy to get caught up in daily operations and the thought of informing the public doesn’t come to mind. Moving forward, we are going to make a concerted effort to post about upcoming projects, ongoing projects and other items of interest. Stay tuned…
