Ivy Academy Chattanooga Ivy Academy is a tuition-free, public charter middle and high school in Hamilton There is no tuition for a charter school.

Ivy receives the same per pupil allotment as every other public school in Hamilton County. As an environmental charter school, Ivy Academy instruction happens more in the outdoors than in the four walls of the classroom.

Labor Day started as a fight for dignity and fair treatment for working people and that's worth remembering today.

At Ivy Academy, that means honoring everyone whose work keeps this school running: our custodians and maintenance staff, cafeteria workers, bus drivers, front office team, nurses, counselors, teaching assistants, and teachers who show up early and stay late. It means honoring the working families behind every student who walks through our doors, often after their own early shifts or long nights. Today's for all of you! SCHOOL CLOSED TOMORROW | SEPTEMBER 4

Ivy Academy will be closed tomorrow, Friday, September 4, due to the heat advisory.

The safety and well-being of our students and staff is always our first priority, and we want to protect our Ivy community from the extreme heat.

There will be no virtual learning or assignments tomorrow. Enjoy the unexpected day off and stay cool!

As a reminder, Monday, September 7, is also a no-school day for Labor Day.

🪢 Science in Action! Ms. Beach’s class took learning outside the classroom with a little friendly competition! Students learned about force and motion through a game of tug-of-war while exploring the difference between balanced and unbalanced forces.

Multiple people. Multiple directions. One common goal.

This is what learning at Ivy looks like: hands-on, active, and outdoors whenever we can make it happen! We love being able to take learning beyond the classroom and make the most of our 50% outdoor learning goal!

We are SO excited to finally welcome our Ivy families to campus after having to postpone Open House last week! Thank you for your patience and understanding, we can’t wait to see you tomorrow!

🚨 UPDATE: OPEN HOUSE TONIGHT IS CANCELLED

Unfortunately, Open House tonight is cancelled. Our plumbers found a larger issue than expected with the water main, and we are unable to host families on campus this evening.

We apologize for the change in plans and appreciate your understanding as we work through this unexpected situation.

Due to a water main break, Ivy Academy will lose water service to the school. We will be dismissing students early today at 12:15 PM.

Please make arrangements for your student to be picked up or ensure they are prepared to ride their assigned bus home.
