Enjoy the outdoors safely and responsibly this National Wilderness Month.

If you're hiking, camping, or exploring, remember to stay away from utility equipment and never climb trees near power lines. Safe adventuring helps protect the people and places we love.

If someone is being shocked by live electricity, never touch the person or the electrical source. For an indoor accident, shut off the power at the circuit breaker if you can safely do so.

If someone is in contact with a live outdoor wire, call 911. Stay back and contact SEC at 800-351-7575 so we can safely disconnect power.

The SEC Foundation was proud to present a check in the amount of $4,725 to New Mexico Tech to provide scholarships for seven SEC students to attend the 2026 Summer STEM Experience! The New Mexico Tech Summer STEM Experience is a week-long program offering college students the ability to earn college credit and learn about a specific science or engineering discipline.
