Ahora si banda! Ya llego la hora.

I share the sad news with you all that Tinta Sangre will be shutting down at the end of the month. It’s time to lay her to rest with dignity.
Thank you once again to all our friends family and clients who showed the place love and support. It’s been a beautiful journey and experience, I’m thankful to have been able to work in the historic Casa Ortiz, and thankful to the people and communities I’ve met while in service here.

Please take a moment to follow and schedule your appointments with our tattooers who will be working until the end of September! And keep in touch with them if you wish to see them grow!

And on a final note, the last slide shows a young olive tree that was gifted to us after our tattoo fundraiser for Palestine where all proceeds were donated to help families and children in Gaza. I would hate to see the guy dry out if it stays here. If you are interested in taking him in please DM us and we’d be happy to take him to your garden and help plant him for you.

Tinta Sangre is hiring humble, clean, and motivated tattooers with a couple years experience working in a professional walk-in shop.

We are a tattoo shop, art gallery, and cultural event center. The only tattoo shop in the El Paso area that operates inside a 200 year old historic Texas landmark and tourist attraction in the heart of the Socorro Mission Trail historic district.
WE ARE NOT A PRIVATE STUDIO.

We have a designated part of the building to hold events that attract potential walk-in business for tattooers if you are willing and able. Tattoo area is isolated from the crowd.

Rent based booth includes lockable toolbox station, barriers, covers, and sanitizing equipment and some supplies. Access to building allowed anytime. Mondays closed for cleaning and maintenance.

Yes you read that right.
Apologies for putting you through an emotional roller coaster.

It’s been tough trying to plan for a brand new baby at home and then get hit with an abrupt and considerable downsizing of the team. I found myself split between being with my family, or hustling at work to make up the missing rent. It felt like closing shop was the right decision.

Then you guys expressed the love you have for the place, some haters expressed their hate lol, and some of you even expressed interest in investing or donating to us to stay open. I am truly humbled and eternally grateful for the love and appreciation for what the Tinta Sangre team has tried to build here.
¡El Barrio respalda!

We are not a conventional business model for a tattoo shop, but through tattoos we aim to subsidize a community gallery and cultural hub.
We could try to get a smaller space, somewhere in a concrete shopping center in El Paso, but it wouldn’t be Tinta Sangre. We love Socorro and the 200 year old Casa Ortiz too much to try any other spot. So now moves are being made to separate the gallery into a non profit entity to gather public funding for the preservation of a historic landmark, for exhibits, workshops, and more community events which in turn will bring traffic to the tattoo shop.

July we will continue business during temporary summer walk-in hours from 3:00pm-9:00pm you can schedule appointments for any time of the day.

🚨IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT🚨

After a lot of consideration I have decided to close the doors of Tinta Sangre Tattoo and Art Gallery at the end of June.

After unforeseen, but probably inevitable circumstances I must make this decision for the wellbeing of my wife and kids who miss their husband and dad.

Thank you once again to our friends, clients, and families, who made this dream possible, and I’m sorry I wasn’t able to give you the full potential of what this building could have been.

With so many tattoo shops in town with so many talented artists a bunch of you decided to come to Socorro and spend your Friday 13th with us!

Tinta Sangre is looking to hire a humble, experienced, and dedicated tattooer with at least 3 years of professional experience to join the team.

Ideally a tattooer who also dedicates time to another art form such as painting, carving, printmaking, ceramics, etc. who is interested in the cultural gem that is Casa Ortiz and the Mission Trail in Socorro, Texas.
We are the only shop in town who can claim to be working inside of a recognized Texas landmark, a 200+ year old Adobe house attraction.

This position also includes an opportunity to exhibit and sell your art or crafts in the gallery and help in organizing events or shows if you are inclined to do so.
