Socorro Public Library

Socorro Public Library We also provide wireless access to the internet, ten public computer work stations, and access to a wide variety of resources through the reference desk.

Our staff provides services and programs for area children and adults which encourage reading, learning and literacy: weekly reading; and crafts projects for pre-schoolers in Children's Story Hour; a program called "Reading is Fundamental" which distributes books to Socorro children in Kindergarten through third grade; and our summer reading incentive program. We do our best to provide our patrons with modern library materials in a variety of formats.

Today the world lost Dolly Parton. An absolute hero to the literacy world, whose love for reading changed millions of lives.
Libraries and book lovers across the world are feeling this loss in a particular way.
Dolly’s Imagination Library has been transforming childhoods since 1995, mailing a free, high-quality book every single month to children from birth to age five. ✨ She believed that every child deserves a home filled with books and the dream of a bright future.
Her family has asked that instead of flowers, people consider donating to the Imagination Library in her memory. We can’t think of a better way to honor her. 📚📖 🦋
