The City of Snyder would like to remind residents that the Inaugural Mexican Independence Day & Cultural Celebration will take place this weekend in downtown Snyder.

Parking will be limited, and residents traveling through the downtown square should expect increased foot traffic and activity. Please be patient as others navigate in and out of the area, allow additional time for pedestrians, and expect possible delays. Avenue R and 26th Street will be closed during the event.

As Americans, we share a common identity while also coming from many different backgrounds and cultures. This celebration gives Snyder an opportunity to recognize that diversity, celebrate Mexican heritage, and bring our community together.

The City of Snyder is proud to recognize the women of the Snyder Police Department and the important role they play in serving and protecting our community.

Your commitment, courage, and dedication make a difference in Snyder every day. We are grateful for your service.

According to the Bureau of Justice Statistics, women made up about 14% of full-time sworn officers in local police departments and sheriffs’ offices in 2020.

To the women of the Snyder Police Department, thank you for your service and your commitment to protecting and serving our community. We appreciate️ you!

Our community leaders have made some questionable life choices.

As part of our Mexican Independence Day & Cultural Celebration on Saturday, September 19, some of our community leaders have agreed to climb into the dunk tank, and now they’re hoping you’ll be kind enough to NOT come dunk them.

Come enjoy an afternoon of vendors, live music, activities, performances, great food, and community fun!

And while you’re there, stop by the dunk tank from 2:00–3:30 p.m. and show our community leaders a little support… preferably from a safe, dry distance.

You have to admit Snyder has some great local businesses. We love seeing them celebrate milestones and serve our community!
