Worcester County Board of Elections bids a fond farewell to two pillars of our team! After over 30 years of dedicated service to Worcester County, we celebrated the official retirement of our incredible Director, Patricia Jackson, and our phenomenal Deputy Director, Teresa Riggin. Their impact on our county and the election process has been immense, and their leadership, wisdom, and dedication will be deeply missed by all of us.

A huge thank you to everyone who came out to celebrate with us! Seeing so many friendly faces there to wish them well made the day truly special.

We are so grateful for their countless contributions and wish them both a retirement filled with joy, relaxation, and new adventures!

From Teresa:

After 30 years working as the Deputy Director for Worcester County Board of Elections, I am happy to announce I will be joining the retirement community. I am excited about the future and likewise sad to leave behind all the relationships I have developed throughout the years with the State Board of Elections, Board Members, and coworkers at the local Boards of Elections. Thank you to everyone for all your help during my career. I will miss everyone.

I want to thank my family for all their love and support that they have shown throughout my challenging and rewarding career.

I am also excited to be able to enjoy my new freedom and look forward to travelling and spending time with my family.

After 40 amazing years, I am retiring today as the Director of the Worcester County Board of Elections. It is a bittersweet moment for me.

I want to thank everyone who has supported me throughout my many years at the Worcester County Board of Elections; from Sheila Jones who took a chance hiring me in October 1985 and teaching me all about elections, to the many Board Members I have worked with, the State Board of Elections and Maryland Association of Election Officials, Election Judges and, of course, my coworkers throughout the State and local offices.

I will dearly miss all of you. Thank you for your guidance and friendship and for being part of my journey.

I also want to thank my family for their love, support, and for understanding that I could not be present for some family occasions due to election deadlines.

I am looking forward to relaxing, reading, and meaningful family time.

It has been an honor to serve Worcester County and to work with all of you. I am incredibly grateful for the memories and friendships.
