James's funeral • 17 July 2024
James Patton, Dad's second son, was truly an incredible man. A devoted father, loving husband, Navy Veteran, Computer Technician of over 20 years, the best brother, and a very strong, hard-working man.
In his Disability and many years of long-term health issues, he rarely complained and always got up to keep working even when it cost him.
His remains are buried in the family cemetery section of the property and his funeral was held on Saturday, 21 September 2024.
We love you James 'Jimmy' and you will forever be in our hearts.

Posting these a bit a late. Some of our last family photos with James 'Jimmy' Patton, prior to his passing on 17 July 2024.

Jimmy was a Navy Veteran, Computer Technician of over 20 years, and the second son of Robert E Patton III, Dad. He was a family man, the best brother, and a devoted father who passed away due to long-term, disability-related health complications. He died peacefully at home.

Photos and videos of the funeral to follow in a separate post.

We love and miss you James.

Some love from yesterday’s celebration. Sunrise’s, family, and Lots of Love from The Ivory Tower.

Fireworks to follow. We love you Gmork, aka Papa Wolf. 🐺

Much love to all the gun builders, tactical experts, construction workers, and my amazing nephew who developed his whole home by hand and tripled its worth in less than 5 years. Built the deck and all from scratch with no formal training outside of YouTube videos. I was so scared to stand on it, but it held up!

I'm literally so impressed with your work, and all the other insanely talented people present.

Love you always,

Patrick & Tash, Atreyu, and Me
The Childlike Empress.

Happy Independence Day from our family to yours! Thank you Papa for letting us facilitate this lovely gathering and mowing the whole property for us, and letting us invite so many cool people. Such a beautiful space you have. A little fun segment from some campers, a newly-elected State Senator 🙏🏽, and a whole slew of Lawyers gone . Haha, so much fun.

Love you Papa and Mom too.

Happy 4th everyone.

Love from,

Welcome home. After 40 years of family work, my father is finally getting around to coming out of Rural Washington and coming online.
Robert E Patton III began this sanctuary in honour of his Father, the late Robert E Patton II, after being discharged from the U.S. Coast Guard Icebreaker 'Staten Island' from Antarctica to Seattle in the 1960s.
With a passion for sustainable food and farming, and a love for nature, conservation and wildlife, he ran Canyon Park Trout Farm, before venturing out to start his own homestead, sanctuary. With a background primarily in trout farming and pisciculture, he had a vision to create a safe space for Disabled Veterans (like himself) to hike, enjoy nature, relax, fish, shoot, share good times, and be loved and remembered for their service to America and the US Military.
His Father, Robert E. Patton II, was a retired Military NCO who served in WWII, the Cold War, and the Korean War. He started in the US Army and then transferred to the US Air Force, where he served as a Staff Sergeant in the 1950s, just after the ban on African Americans joining was lifted. He held a lifelong love for Germany and also loved Japan and the Japanese people.
He died peacefully at my father's house in Seattle, Washington on 24 August 1995 and was cremated and planted as a Japanese maple at my father's sanctuary.
We hope you are encouraged by our family posts, updates and tributes.
