Today we say Thank You to the brave men & women who have served & are currently serving our country in the military. A special Thank You to the members of our department as we honor you today. For your service & sacrifice, we are forever grateful.

Congratulations to members of our department who recently successively completed state required training for Tennessee Volunteer Firefighters. During the course, firefighters were trained in things such as safety, personal protective equipment, search & rescue, tactical ventilation & fire control tactics, to name a few, while improving their skills in breathing apparatus, hose loads, ropes & knots, forced entry & search tactics, among other skills. Thank you to Treadway Fire Chief Doug Brown for hosting the classes.

With the seasons changing, so comes cooler weather. Warm evenings turn to cool evenings & eventually cold evenings. During this transition, we at Vardy-Blackwater Fire Dept. want you to be able to enjoy this weather in the comfort of your warm home. Check your heat source before using it. If you are using heaters or stoves, please take the time to insure they are being used properly for the safety of you & your family.

Looks like the members of the Vardy Blackwater Volunteer Fire Department are working on training tonight! Always looking for new members to help protect our community. Meetings are held on first Monday of the month so come on over and become a part of our team.
