We have about 25 employees, including the police department, plus another 18 volunteer firemen. We supply our citizens with utilities (water, sewer, garbage, fire protection, animal control and mosquito spraying). Sneads Park on Lake Seminole is where you can launch a boat from the boat ramp and enjoy some of the best freshwater fishing in the state, or fish from the bank. We also have pavilions we rent out for family reunions, weddings, birthday parties and much more. With the calm waters of Lake Seminole what better way to spend your evenings than relaxing on the bank watching the sunset. Sneads Elementary consistently scores an “A” on the state report card. Grand Ridge Middle and Sneads High School is following in their footsteps making an “A” and “B” as well. We have great teachers who love to teach kids and always have the best interest of our children at heart. Sports are big in our town. Our high school girl volleyball team is the 1-A State Champions nine years back-to-back; 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020 and 2021. Creating a new state record for nine consecutive state championships for 1-A schools. Our other high school sports like football, basketball, baseball, softball, track, and beach volleyball are also hard to beat on their respected fields and courts. We are very proud of our students, student athletes, schools, teachers and staff. However, if sports aren't your kids choice of afterschool activities then maybe they could be a part of the Band, Beta club, Student Council or the Future Farmers of America (FFA) clubs. The Sneads High School FFA team has produced several top placing state and winning teams over the years. In 2022 the FFA Agricultural Communications Team won State and was recognized with a Silver Emblem Award at Nationals. In 2023 the FFA Agricultural Sales Team won State and will be going back to Nationals in October 2023. We are proud of our PIRATES! Our Churches and Clubs like the Carlisle Rose Garden Club and American Legion are very involved in our community with student ministries, outreach projects and volunteering. We would not be as great of a Town without the help of our churches and community volunteers. MEMORIAL DAY: 7th Annual Ride by Memorial Day Procession... The Sneads Carlisle Rose Garden Club will again sponsor a procession through the Town of Sneads on Memorial Day, May 25th. The event began years ago because the pandemic did not allow for a traditional parade and has become an annual event. The procession honors all veterans who gave their life for our country with special tribute to those from the local area.
If you live along the route, you will be able to view the procession from your yard or porch. They will be waving their flags in memory of those who have died while serving in the United States Armed Forces. They ask citizens to be outside their homes and give them a wave.
NEW ROUTE: Starting point for the processional is the Adam Tucker Wilson Memorial Park (Sneads Ball Park) on Legion Road. Line up begins at 9:30 a.m. central time and the procession begins at 10:00. The procession route is new this year, see flyer. For more information contact Faye Walden @ 850-209-7252, Kay Brown @ 850-209-4734 or any Sneads Carlisle Rose Garden Club member.
