Smyrna, TN Parks and Recreation Smyrna Parks and Recreation Department's mission is to enhance the quality of life for all residents.

The Smyrna Parks Department consists of more than 800 acres of property dedicated to recreation and leisure activities. We have ten public parks, twelve miles of trails and greenways, numerous athletic fields, a public pool, splash pad, multiple practice areas and green space. We also have three buildings that are available to rent for your special event: Rosenwald Community Center, Assembly Hall,

and the Smyrna Train Depot. Our Administration staff handles the daily office duties and facility rentals. The Athletics Office oversees our popular local athletic leagues while also coordinating various community events and programs. Park Maintenance staff performs daily maintenance operations as well as engages in numerous park projects throughout the year. The mission of the Parks Department is to enhance the quality of life for all citizens of the Smyrna Community by providing a variety of recreational programs, wellness programs, and both passive and active park facilities. The Town of Smyrna operates our social media accounts as a designated public forum. Kayaks for rent today!
The Smyrna Outdoor Adventure Center will be on-site today at Jefferson Springs Recreation Area from 11 AM to 5 PM for watercraft rentals (weather permitting). If you can't make it today, we will also be back on the 26th and are available for pickup throughout the season by calling 615-459-9710.

We will still have Food Truck Friday and Movie Night, and we hope for pleasant weather.
Food trucks have arrived and are ready to serve!

Join us for National Movie Night!

We're excited to combine this event with our popular Food Truck Friday at Cedar Stone Park this Friday night. Bring your lawn chairs and blankets, and enjoy the classic movie, "Angels in the Outfield", under the stars on our beautiful turf ballfield.
Food Vendors include:
Big Back BBQ, El Matador, Southern Scoops, and, of course, delicious popcorn and treats from the Smyrna Baseball League's concession stand.
Food Trucks will start serving at 4 PM, ballfield seating will begin at 6 PM, and the movie will start at dark (approximately 8 PM). We will have plenty of games and fun activities for the whole family to enjoy.

The Parks and Recreation Advisory Board meets on Tuesday, June 16, at 5:00 pm, at the Smyrna Outdoor Adventure Center, 100 Sam Ridley Parkway East. Public Comments are reserved for the beginning of the meeting. Each speaker is allowed 3 minutes. Smyrna Parks Storm Damage Update at 12:35 p.m.:

Sharp Springs Natural Area is now open.

The Bark Springs dog park will now be closed through the rest of the week and weekend due to the removal of large trees that fell during the storm.

In addition, some sections of the greenway may remain blocked until all fallen trees have been removed.

Calling all kids ages 6 to 15!

The Town of Smyrna Parks & Recreation Department and the Mid TN Multi-Sport Triathlon Club are excited to announce the inaugural Smyrna Splash & Dash on Saturday, June 27, 2026.

Participants will begin with a quick lap swim at the SplashTown Swimming Pool, followed by a one-mile race to Lee Victory Recreation Center and back.

This event is a fantastic opportunity for young athletes to experience a triathlon.
