Jai Ganesh shakha and Sanatan Mandir Atlanta successfully concluded a dynamic 5-day Hindu Heritage camp designed to bridge cultural education and leadership with a vibrant cohort of balas and shishu participants.
The objective of the camp was to impart core sanatan values—such as discipline, seva (selfless service), and strong moral character—through an immersive, fun-filled environment that balances spiritual learning and physical activity.
The most of the camp activities lifted heavily by the collaborative spirit of the Sanatan Mandir and Kishores and Kishoris from HSS Jai Ganesh Shakha. These Kishore / Kishori acted as peer mentors and shikshaks, gaining vital experience in planning, ex*****on, speaking, and coordination.
The camp culminated today June 5th with an exhibit open to parents. The Bala and shishu participants demonstrated their newly acquired skills by reciting shloka and performing a short skit reflecting sanatan morals. After performances, few participants and parents shared their experiences about the camp.
Every participant received a certificate for completing the camp, by Sanatan Mandir president Dr. Niranjan Dave, Amita Ji Dave, and HSS JGS Mukhya Shikshak (chapter coordinator) Vivek ji.
During his speech, Dr. Niranjan ji Dave acknowledged the collaboration between JGS Shakha and mandir for all activities. He also shared few upcoming events hosted by Mandir expecting participation from community.
On behalf of HSS Balagokulam, Chaitanya ji expressed gratitude for the support from Sanatan mandir, great participation from all the kids and support from all participant’s parents in spite of the working week. Also shared couple of stories and examples from Mahabharat explaining importance of such camps and consistent efforts to stay connected with the culture. In addition to this, the details on Balagokulam activities happening every Friday evening at Sanatan mandir 6.45-8.15 PM were also shared to be part of such activities. Arnav ji Mankad ( HSS 6 months vistarak from Boston in Georgia vibhag) not only compered the event but steered the entire camp with great coordination between all volunteers. The event concluded with few group pictures and delicious Ice cream treat. 🕉

HSS Jai Ganesh Shakha and Sanatan Mandir Atlanta is hosting Hindu Heritage camp this week. Excellent participation from all the kids in every activity. The camp will continue till Friday and on last day, kids will be exhibiting some of the activities they learned during the camp. 🕉

🙏 Guru Vandana by Jai Ganesh Shakha!

HSS Jai Ganesh Shakha blessed to host a beautiful Guru Vandana event at Sanatan Mandir, Smyrna, on Saturday, May 2, 2026 — a heartfelt tribute to the sacred teacher-student tradition.

Event started with the Deep Prajwalan by Teachers, HSS Georgia Vibhag Sanghchalak Ajay ji Houde and Sanatan Mandir former president Nitin Ji Joshi followed by Shloka chanting by HSS Jai Ganesh shakha Balgokulam kids. A presentation on Guru Vandana explaining the tradition and importance of Guru in Hindu culture.
Few Kishore from JGS demonstrated the yoga with Surya Namaskar explaining the technique. After that a thoughtful skit was presented by few Bala followed by couple of individual musical performances. A group dance with Dandiya was performed in an innovative way following a ghosh performance playing a Shriram bhajan on music instruments.
All the kids felicitated their respective teachers with the gratitude and respect towards them.

We were honoured to welcome the Chairwoman of Cobb County Lisa Cupid , whose gracious presence added great significance to the occasion and reflected the community's recognition of our values and traditions. In her speech Chairwoman Cupid spoke about the importance of teachers and mentors in building strong communities and acknowledged the rich cultural heritage that this tradition represents. Also she shared some of her experiences from her educational journey.

Sanatan Mandir former president Nitin Ji Joshi represented Mandir in every aspect and welcomed Chairwoman Cupid. In his speech, Nitin ji acknowledged the teacher role and assured to support the county needs.

HSS Georgia Vibhag Sanghchalak Ajay ji Houde delivered an inspiring address, emphasizing the timeless and ever-growing importance of a teacher's role in a student's life — especially in today's rapidly evolving AI era, where the human connection between guru and shishya remains irreplaceable.

Before concluding the event, teachers shared their touching experiences of the event.

Darshana poster exhibition was featured in the event which was appreciated by all the teachers, Chairwoman Cupid and attendees. Chairwoman Cupid supported the idea to host Darshana exhibition at county offices.
Teachers and attendees also enjoyed the henna and saree draping activities.

The event concluded on a joyful note with delicious food shared among all attendees, filling hearts and stomachs alike!

Marking the occasion of Earth Day, Swayamsevak and sevika from Hindu Swayamsevak Sangh (HSS), Jai Ganesh Shakha Smyrna gathered this morning to execute an ‘Adopt-a-Mile’ cleanup. The team demonstrated their commitment to environmental stewardship by removing litter and beautifying a designated section of the Smyrna community.
