The Jonquil City Jog is Saturday, May 2, 2026 – Registration opens at 7:00 am - 5K at 8:00 am - 1-mile at approximately 9:00 am with the Tot Trot to follow. The race starts at Smyrna City Hall in downtown Smyrna. As one of the best community races in the Metro Atlanta area, the Jonquil City Jog consistently draws a great crowd for this flat, fast and family-friendly course. Proceeds benefit the Campbell High School Educational Foundation, Inc. and Support Smyrna. The Campbell High School Educational Foundation is a non-profit organization that provides financial and community support to Campbell High School. Throughout the pandemic, Support Smyrna was able to help feed hundreds of Smyrna families in need and continues to support the Smyrna community. They are expanding their mission within the Smyrna community to help veterans, seniors, students, and others in need.

As we approach the United States Semiquincentennial, we invite you to join us in a moment of community tribute. On the morning of July 1st, we will be installing a 250-flag memorial to mark our nation's 250th birthday at Veteran’s Memorial Park (2800 King Street). This display will remain in honor for the month of July.

While this event is open to all, we want to extend a special invitation to our local veterans and active-duty service members to lead the way in this tribute. To participate in the planting and receive a commemorative coin, registration is required.

Registration is currently open for Smyrna residents only. Non-resident registration opens on May 29 at 9:00 AM.

When: Wednesday, July 1st | 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM
Where: Veteran’s Memorial Park
Cost: Free and open to the public. Register at rec.us/smyrna

As we close out Women’s History Month, we would like to thank everyone who attended, participated and supported our first ever Women’s History Month Luncheon last Friday at the Reed House. The family of the Historical Honoree (Mary) Louise Lindley Harper were present and her daughter, Sue Wallace spoke. Faye Yost, community leader and education advocate, was recognized as the 2026 City of Smyrna Women’s History Month honoree. Thanks to the Women’s History Month Committee and staff who helped with the event.
