This historic home and museum sits in the middle of 168 acres which is open to the public as a private non-profit House Museum and offers guided tours. Follow the cedar-lined drive and take a tour of the historic home of Civil War soldier, Sam Davis. Located in Smyrna, Tennessee, The Sam Davis Home was built along the banks of Stewarts Creek in 1810. The historic house and museum rests on 168 acre

s of farmland just east of Nashville. Your tour experience begins with a documentary video about the life of Sam Davis and a tour of the museum gallery. Then guests are taken on a guided tour through the main house, the original kitchen, smokehouse, overseer's cabin, enslaved quarters and family cemetery.

Our last, "Behind the Ropes" after hours tour of 2026 is next Saturday evening, September 19, at 6:00pm!
These tours are a perfect opportunity to have exclusive access to the Davis home and grounds and to learn more about work we are doing to commemorate our upcoming centennial in 2030! We will talk about our current project to restore the Davis home and our efforts to learn more about those who lived and worked here before and after the Civil War. We will also visit areas not open to the public during daily tours, including the cellar under the Davis home.

Saturday September 5th. The last guided tour time will begin at 12noon, due to the high temperatures and heat advisory. Self guided tours of the grounds and (air conditioned) museum gallery will continue as normal until close at 4pm.
