Aurora seems perplexed as to why the fish got fed before her 🤣

The fish provide not only enrichment for the foxes (who don’t seem interested in eating them), but also to assist with keeping the water trough clean by eating algae, mosquito larvae, bugs, & droppings.

🚨Just two days ago, President Trump signed an executive order directing the Department of the Interior to determine whether gray wolves and Mexican gray wolves have met the criteria for downlisting or delisting under the Endangered Species Act. The order also directs federal agencies to consider changes that could make lethal removal of wolves easier in certain circumstances.

But the numbers matter.

According to an analysis of USDA and state data, cattle killed or injured by wolves represented just 0.002% of cattle herds in the affected states.

Wolves are not the problem. They’re being made the scapegoat.

Stop the war on wolves.

September Animal of the Month: Tauriel!
Tauriel is our animal of the month. Her name translates to "daughter of the forest," which seems appropriate for September as leaves begin their fall transformation. Born in Indiana, Tauriel moved with her brother to Wolf Mountain at only a few months old. She continues to reside with Cypress and two young female wolves who watch her behaviors and then copy them. While we have always known Tauriel loves to jump, we recently witnessed her climbing a tree!
During the month of September, sponsorships for Tauriel score you a discount: you save $5 off each sponsorship! Visit our Donate/Sponsor tab on website to purchase! www.thewolfmountainnaturecenter.org

We always get a chuckle when folks ask us if we are still feeding the wolves if it’s raining. Our wolves get fed on a regular basis regardless of weather conditions-rain, snow, sleet, sun-they still need to eat! Our next opportunities for visitors to purchase vouchers to feed the wolves & foxes are: August 30, September 13, & September 27. Vouchers are available at admissions to purchase beginning at noon and end at 1pm or when sold out (which is always the case!)
