Located just 20 miles from downtown Kansas City, there are several recreational opportunities available to the outdoor enthusiast that include: 2 swim beaches, 777 campsites, reservable shelters, 2 full service marinas including boat rentals, 1 sailboat only marina, 2 public 18-hole golf courses within the Paradise Poin

te Golf Complex, 4 disc golf courses, great fishing whether from shore or by boat, 25 miles of walking/biking trails, 11 miles of single-track mountain biking trails, 26 miles of equestrian trails, home to Kansas City Trapshooters Association, public hunting that includes managed goose hunts as well as youth and ADA white-tail deer and wild turkey hunts, and an aggressive 2,300 acre native grassland revitalization project.

Kelsey Short is available for groups of all ages year round. SCA, who has occupied the group camp area the last 2 weeks, will have a fireworks show tonight and wrap up their event on Sunday. You will be able to see the fireworks from Camp Branch and the surrounding trailhead parking lots.

Jesse James Bank Museum is a historic site in Clay County offering an inside look at a bank from the 1800s.
This bank was one of the first robbed by the infamous James Gang.
Located in Liberty, this bank is full of Missouri history.

Have you ever wanted to improve your ability to sketch wildlife and nature? Whether you’re picking up a pencil for the first time or looking to sharpen your artistic skills, this program will cover the fundamentals of drawing animals and techniques to help you become a better artist.

Come learn how to observe the natural world through an artist’s eye while practicing basic sketching skills in a fun and relaxed environment. All skill levels are welcome!

A walk on Anita B. Gorman Trail.
This 1.9 mile long trail is fully paved and runs from Collins Road to Crows Creek.
You can find the trailheads for both Gorman and Cabin Fever at the Crows Creek Boat Launch.
