Who’s Who Wednesday: Meet Jeanne Saylor

Today, we are honored to feature our Chamber President, Jeanne Saylor!

Jeanne isn't just a leader within our organization, she is a passionate advocate for the growth of every resident, student, and business in our town. As the Branch Retail Manager at Southern Bank, she lives out her mission of creating opportunity through growth every single day.

Get to know the heart behind our leadership:
Business: Southern Bank
"We create opportunity through growth."

Expert Advice for New Businesses:
"Join the Chamber. When you join, you’re not just adding your name to a list, you’re stepping into a network of leaders and community partners who want to see you succeed. Those relationships open doors and build the support system every new business needs."

What she loves about Smithville:
"It’s a truly growth-minded community, not just in buildings, but in people. Our businesses, schools, City, and civic organizations all work together to help everyone grow. That shared commitment is what makes this such a special place to live and work."

Just for Fun (Travel & Traditions):
Jeanne loves to travel! Whether she’s exploring local KC spots or traveling abroad (like her recent trip to the Netherlands), her favorite part is meeting new people and learning about their traditions through food.

Shoutout: Jeanne’s beautiful headshot photo was captured by local talent and Chamber member Molly Beale Photography!

Jeanne, thank you for your vision, your travel-inspired perspective, and your steady leadership as we work to make our community grow stronger!

Can you believe it’s been this long? ✂️✨

For this week’s , we’re looking back at the official ribbon cutting for our Chamber building at 105 W Main St! While our journey began in 1976 as "The Breakfast Club," this moment marked a major milestone in our history, providing a permanent home to serve as the heartbeat of our business community.

Check out that classic logo! The sailboat and waves symbolized the new era of growth and recreation that Smithville Lake brought to our town. It’s incredible to see how much has changed while our commitment to Smithville, MO remains the same.

Recognize any of these faces in the crowd? Tag them or share your favorite memories of the Chamber's early years in the comments below! 👇
