Notify Me – City of Smithville, TX Alerts - Forwarding information from CenterPoint Energy. Please contact CenterPoint if you have any questions.

We’re visiting your neighborhood — here’s what you can expect! At CenterPoint Energy, we are committed to delivering safe, reliable natural gas to the communities we are privileged to serve. That’s why we'll be in your neighborhood inspecting natural gas meters and related equipment to help us keep your service safe and reliable when you need it most. These routine inspections are simple, quick and free of charge. Here’s what you can expect and reminders to help stay informed
1. CenterPoint contractors will be conducting on the ground inspections and walking through neighborhoods 7 days a week to complete your meter inspection. The inspection should take less than 10 minutes and will take place near the meter.
2. All contractors performing these inspections will carry badges and identify themselves as CenterPoint contractors.
3. Contractors may need to access your backyard to reach the meter — no entry to your home is required.
4. If we cannot access and inspect the meter at your home, another attempt to inspect the meter will be made in the future.
5. Please verify your contact information is correct by logging into your account at CenterPointEnergy.com/MyAccount. Your safety is our priority If you ever feel unsure about someone claiming to be a CenterPoint contractor, please:
1. Ask to see their ID badge. All CenterPoint workers and contractors will gladly show them upon request.
2. Contact CenterPoint to verify whether contractors are in your area: South, TX: 800-427-7142
