After many years of dedicated service to our library and community, Linda Hill will be retiring on Tuesday, June 30, 2026.

From helping patrons find the perfect book to supporting our behind‑the‑scenes work with dedication, Linda has been an essential part of our library staff. Her kindness, reliability, and deep knowledge have made a lasting impact on the staff, board, and patrons.

We are grateful for everything she has contributed over the last FIFTEEN (!!) years. Feel free to send her well-wishes as she begins her next chapter:

- Drop off a note or card in person to the library's circulation desk

- Send a card or note:
Smithton Public Library
c/o Linda Hill
109 S Main St
Smithton IL 62285

- Send an email to: smithtonpl (at) smithtonpl.org and we'll pass it along.

I know Linda would love to hear from you. We're going to miss her. We wish her all the best!
-Jenna (library director)
