URGENT: With the potential of several inches of snowfall Saturday night into Monday morning, please make sure you do not park on/along the snow emergency routes listed in the Winter Weather Policy attached to this post. Additionally, The Town of Smithsburg and the Smithsburg Police Department are requesting the residents who reside within the Mountain Shadows and Whispering Hill subdivisions of the town to please park in your driveways to allow our snow removal staff to completely clear roadways and cul-de-sacs within those subdivisions. Parking off the roadway will also protect your vehicles from any potential damage during the snow removal efforts. In addition to those parking lots listed on the policy, Lions Parks also has ample parking as an alternative for off street parking. Thank you. Stay Safe and if you must travel during this inclement weather event please use extreme caution.

December 19th will always be a day of mourning for our agency and the Town of Smithburg. 18 years ago, Officer Christopher Nicholson tragically lost his life in the line of duty. The community lost an incredible, kind, caring, and loving man whose sacrifice will never be forgotten.
