We are located in Northern California amongst the Giant Redwoods. With the redwoods to the east and the mighty Pacific Ocean to our west, we live in some of the most beautiful lands that the Great Northwest has to offer. With almost thirty miles of coastline to call home, we have lived for thousands of years off of the lands, rivers, and sea. VIEWS EXPRESSED DISCLAIMER:

On April 11, nine families gathered for the Postpartum Kitchen Make and Take: Chis-Chu Lentil Soup event. The event was hosted by the Tolowa Dee-ni' Nation Department Community and Family Wellness under the Tribal Home Visiting program, in partnership with the Natural Resources Department and Aunties on the River.

During this hands-on cooking experience, families and community members came together to learn about self-care, emotional well-being, and the local resources available to support those navigating postpartum and parenting.

The event created a space for connection, shared knowledge, and mutual support among both new and experienced parents all centered around healing, nourishment, and wellness.

At the end of the activity, each family took home soup along with a $20 gift card. Shu' shaa nin-la (thank you) to all who participated.
