As EMS Week comes to a close, we wanted to take one final moment to say thank you. ❤️🚑

This week, we highlighted providers, recognized our families, partners, and those who support us behind the scenes. We talked about the hard parts of the job, celebrated the moments that make it worth it, and gave a glimpse into the people behind the uniforms.

EMS is teamwork. Sacrifice. Long nights. Missed holidays. Coffee-fueled shifts and laughter when we need it most.

To our EMTs, AEMTs, paramedics, students, drivers, dispatchers, mutual aid partners, and support system; THANK YOU!

And to our community: thank you for trusting us, supporting us, and allowing us the privilege of serving you.

EMS Week Shoutout: Thank You, AHN Critical Care Unit 956 ❤️🚑
In EMS, no one does this job alone, and we are incredibly grateful for the crews who answer when we need help.

AHN Prehospital Critical Care Unit 956 regularly assists both our BLS and ALS crews, helping provide advanced care and extra hands when we need them most. In a coverage area as large as ours, there are times they can reach patients before we can due to extended response times, helping bridge that gap and making a difference when every minute matters.

To Luke, Michael, Fiore, and the ENTIRE 956 crew; thank you.

Thank you for the assists, the support, the teamwork, and for making our jobs a little easier. Some calls truly have better outcomes because of the people willing to step in and help — and we’ve personally seen that impact firsthand.

EMS is at its best when we work together, and we are grateful to have partners like you.

Behind every provider are family members making sacrifices too.

The spouses who understand interrupted dinners and late-night calls. The parents, kids, siblings, and loved ones who support the long shifts, missed holidays, canceled plans, and the emotional weight that can come home after a difficult day.

EMS may answer the calls, but no one does this job alone.

To our EMS spouses and family members: thank you for your patience, your understanding, your support, and for sharing your people with our community.

EMS Week Spotlight: Meet Our AEMTs 🚑

Did you know there’s a level of care between EMT and Paramedic?

Advanced EMTs (AEMTs) bridge that gap; providing an expanded level of patient care while bringing additional skills and treatments to the field.

At Station 52, we’re proud to have two AEMTs serving our community: Steve and Tawnie!

AEMTs can provide additional care beyond the EMT level, including advanced airway skills, IV access, fluid administration, and additional medications; allowing us to bring more advanced treatment directly to our patients before arriving at the hospital.

While the title may not be as widely known, the mission remains the same: showing up when people need help most.
