We’re excited to welcome veterans to the new home of the Orleans Parish Veterans Service Office, now located at the Allie Mae Williams Multi-Service Center.

This move strengthens LDVA’s presence in the community and makes it easier for veterans and their families to access the services and benefits they deserve. Thank you to the City of New Orleans for opening the door to this opportunity and for supporting our shared commitment to those who served.

The holiday season brings joy for many, but it can also be an incredibly difficult time for some in our military and veteran community.
Some are facing their first holiday without a loved one.
Some are deployed or have a loved one deployed.
Others may be feeling the weight of loneliness, stress, or grief.

As part of the Governor’s Challenge to Prevent Su***de Among Service Members, Veterans, and Their Families, we are sharing this updated Louisiana SMVF Resource Card to ensure every service member, veteran, and family member knows that support is here — 24/7.

Please save and share this resource card. You never know who might need it today.

If you or someone you know needs help:
📞 Dial 988, then Press 1 for the Veterans Crisis Line
📱 Call 225-219-5000 for LDVA assistance

This holiday season, let’s check on one another, lift up those who may be struggling, and remind our military and veteran families that they are not alone — not during the holidays, and not ever.

Wreaths Across America - what is it about?

https://www.facebook.com/share/p/17p1yF7RCf/

Today, across the nation, tens of thousands of volunteers gather for Wreaths Across America, a day when people of all ages come together with one purpose: to remember.

At Arlington National Cemetery, and at over 3,700 participating locations across the country, every wreath laid carries meaning.
A wreath is more than a gesture, it is a promise.
A promise that our Fallen will never be forgotten.
A promise that their stories will continue long after the world moves on.
A promise that we will speak their names, Honor their service, and carry their legacies forward.

What makes this day so powerful isn’t just the wreaths…
it’s the people.

Families. Veterans. Children. Gold Star parents.
Strangers who show up in the cold, kneel in the grass, and pause to Honor someone they never met but refuse to let fade.

It’s a reminder that remembrance is a community effort, a shared act of love, gratitude, and respect.

As we watch thousands of wreaths laid across Arlington today, let us remember that behind every stone is a life that mattered. A life that shaped a family, a unit, a nation.

May we live in a way that Honors them not only today, but every day.
And may we continue to teach the next generation what sacrifice truly looks like.

Honor. Remember. Teach. 🇺🇸

🇺🇸 Honor a Hero in the comments. Follow our mission to never forget. Share this to remember them.
