It’s with a heavy heart that I have to announce my husband David passed away suddenly on Thursday, July 13th. He fought a good fight! For 27 years he fought his disease of AMN with every ounce of his being. A loving husband and an amazing father, he will be dearly missed.
An announcement will be made at a later date for his memorial service.

Hello. It has been far too long since I last posted an update. Things have been very busy. Advising families affected with ALD takes much time. Currently, I am helping men with the adult form in multiple countries and several families if boys suffering both here and overseas. One shift in focus has been the mental and emotional impact of the condition. I currently have a family at their wits end over behaviors. I hope to ask a physician to take a better look and determine how this may be better managed.

Under my name, David Cry, I just started a fund raiser for ALD. If late, I have been so busy that raising needed resources has been a challenge. I would appreciate any and all support and sharing this with as many people who might help as possible.

Lastly, right now, a movie and television producer I am aligned with is shopping my book, A Short Walk Home as a television series. Telling the story of ALD onscreen is quite meaningful to me as it allows awareness to be raised and will tell ours and, other stories of the impact of ALD. I am quite optimistic about all of this. A close friend and incredible actor jas signed on to portray my late father. A truly incredible act of grace and kindness. Thanks to all for your support! It means so much!

I had to take a moment to express thanks to Tanner Honda, a Cincinatti comic with an incredible heart. Following the recognition that his newborn nephew Noah is disposed to ALD, Tanner orchestrated A Night of Too Many Comics, with proceeds coming to us and, other ALD organizations. Thank you Tanner for your thoughtfulness, and willingness to fight with us. Our hopes are that Noah leads a healthy and abundant life!

Even though this page has been active for many years, for a variety of reasons, I have not been as active as I would like to be here. Because many things have changed of late, this will now change. This page is not for me. It is for the countless families who have endured ALD. For each and every supporter who has allowed what they have

Losing a child. Simply put, there is nothing worse. Losing a child to ALD is in many ways worse. Not being able to do anything as your son loses hesring, vision, and speech, is crippling. Both physically and emotionally. This process does things to families i canot readly describe here. A life wthout hope really is not life.

There are certain encouraging treatments now being tested which will spare boys from the terrors of ALD. For that, I am gratful. At the same time, I am well aware that this will not be enough. High risk boys will continue to face uncertainty. I have plans to address this. The thing is, I do need support. While i culd throw a party to raise needed funds, to be honest, there is nothing to celebrate. I am open to your comments and suggestions and thank you in advance for offering this. Next week, I will post specifics of what I believe must be addressed. Until then, thanks to you all. Have a great weekend
