Village officials are aware of social media posts regarding the PBA working without a contract. Please note that this is an incorrect statement. By operation of law, the contract continues in its current form, regardless of whether the term has come to an end.

The Village and PBA have been negotiating since February. We have mutually decided to enlist the services of a mediator to help bring the negotiations to a close. The Village remains committed to reaching an agreement that balances the interests of PBA unit members, the Village and the taxpayers.

Join the Village of Sleepy Hollow and the Village of Tarrytown for our Memorial Day Ceremony on Monday, May 25th at 10am. at Patriot’s Park as we come together to honor the men and women who served our country. 🇺🇸

The morning will include remarks, participation from the SHHS Marching Band, local fire departments and community groups, plus face painting and Jimmy’s Soft Serve for families.

Please note that Route 9 will be closed from College Avenue to Warner Library during the event, and parking restrictions will be in effect nearby to accommodate participating vehicles and emergency apparatus.

We hope you’ll join us for this meaningful community tradition.

Únase a Sleepy Hollow y Tarrytown para nuestra ceremonia del Memorial Day el lunes 25 de mayo a las 10 de la mañana en Patriot’s Park, mientras nos reunimos para honrar a los hombres y mujeres que sirvieron a nuestro país. 🇺🇸

La mañana incluirá presentaciones, participación de la banda de marcha de SHHS, departamentos de bomberos y grupos comunitarios, además de pintura de caras y Jimmy’s Soft Serve para las familias.

Tome en cuenta que Route 9 estará cerrada desde College Avenue hasta Warner Library durante el evento, y habrá restricciones de estacionamiento en el área para acomodar vehículos participantes y equipos de emergencia.

The Sleepy Hollow Volunteer Fire Department is celebrating its 150th Anniversary! Join the celebration at the Sleepy Hollow FD - NY Carnival at Kingsland Point Park May 13-17, from 5pm-10pm each day except Saturday, 2pm-10pm. AND celebrate at the SHFD Parade at 2pm on May 16. Due to the forecast of rain for Saturday, Free Day in Sleepy Hollow and Tarrytown has been moved to Sunday, April 26.

• At the end of the day, bring anything that was not claimed back inside

New Date: The Tarrytown Rotary Club Duck Derby is now scheduled for Saturday, May 2 at 11:00am in Patriot’s Park.

Due to the forecast of rain, the Duck Derby in Tarrytown has been moved to the following Saturday, May 2.
The event is combined with the Fam¬ily YMCA of Tar-ry-town’s Healthy Kids Day for a full day of activities from 11:00am – 3:00pm, with the duck races kicking-off at 11:00am.

LOCATION UPDATE:

Tuesday, April 28, 7:30pm at Kendal on Hudson

Our next quarterly Town Hall Meeting takes place at the James Galgano Senior Center on Tuesday, April 28 at 7:30pm, located at 55 Elm Street.
In addition to updates from the Mayor, our Village Treasurer, Kieya Glaze, will speak about the 2026-2027 operating budget, while DPW head, Kevin Smith, will provide an update on the state of our infrastructure and upcoming projects.
Sustainable Sleepy Hollow and the Tree Commission will also make presentations.
Please car-pool if possible. Thank you to Kendal-on-Hudson for hosting us during their 20th Anniversary year!

April 7 Work Session Recap:

• Public Hearing on the FY 27 Tentative Operating Budget: All department heads presented to the Mayor and Board of Trustees with their proposed budgets for the upcoming fiscal year and the public was invited to share feedback. Residents are welcome to share thoughts through Tuesday, April 14. There will be a vote to finalize the budget at a special work session of the Board of

Trustees on April 21, 7:00pm at Village Hall.

• Edge-on-Hudson Special Permit: Lighthouse Landing Communities LLC is interested in a change to the special permit that would allow them to convert 175 for-sale condominiums to 175 rental apartment units. The full memorandum is available for review here. If they submit a formal request, there will be a public hearing and opportunities to gather feedback from the public and key stakeholders before any decisions are made

• Gas-Powered Leaf Blowers: The Mayor and Trustees discussed the feedback received from the public hearing and written comments on the proposed ban. They're considering lengthening the phase-in time period and exploring additional financial supports for landscapers. They will continue to iterate on language for the resolution to be voted on during May's Board meeting

• Con Edison Monitoring Consortium: The Mayor and Trustees expressed unanimous interest in renewing participation in the Westchester Municipal Consortium (WMC) that will actively engage in oversight, proceeding and meetings to respond to energy costs, service quality and future rates
